About UF Hospitaliteam

UF Hospitaliteam is a student-run volunteer organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and hospitality services to adult patients at UF Health Shands Hospital. Hospitaliteam's mission is to provide kindness and a warm welcome to patients who may be feeling isolated or disconnected from the rest of the world. We hope to provide them with fun, comfort, and compassion during their stay to ensure that their nonmedical needs are cared for. We work with patients in all 3 towers of the UF Health Shands Hospital, including underserved adult populations who are often not reached by other UF student organizations. Our weekly volunteer shifts are dedicated to spending one-on-one time with patients in 22 units and providing them with personal care and leisure items from our Hospitality Cart, such as hairbrushes and sudoku puzzles.
