About Ufi Hydrogen

UFI HYDROGEN is the Italian company, within UFI Filters Group, fully focused on the Hydrogen business value chain. Since 2017 UFI Filters Group started R&D activities using Hydrogen technologies, which resulted with the foundation in 2023 of the NewCo dedicated to the research and development, implementation and industrialization of MEAs – Membranes Electrode Assembly – for PEM – Proton Exchange Membranes – Water Electrolysis, suitable for the green hydrogen production, as well as for PEM Fuel Cells, for green hydrogen utilization in the zero-emission mobility and also for Electrochemical Compressors applications. UFI HYDROGEN’s R&D based in the north of Italy has the purpose to be the first Italian research centre and producer of green hydrogen technologies taking an active part in the decarbonization process to net-zero. UFI HYDROGEN has developed a wide international network with the most relevant R&D Hydrogen centres, Universities, innovative Startups, research Labs, and PHDs at a global level that has enabled the R&D of the company to achieve a very innovative and competitive MEA solution that ensure the highest market KPIs parameters, competitivity and durability. UFI HYDROGEN counts on the active support of Provincia Autonoma di Trento and FBK (Fondazione Bruno Kessler) for innovation projects on MEA for water electrolysers and Provincia Autonoma di Trento for the development of the new production site in the North of Italy. UFI HYDROGEN counts on 4 million euros investments for MEAs water electrolysers from Provincia di Trento and 26,5 million euros for MEAs fuel cells from IPCEI Hy2Move Wave. Indeed, the NewCo plays an important role in the IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) Hydrogen Program in the Hy2Move Wave, with the Project Roll-to-Roll Production of innovative MEA, along with other important European partners.
