About UGA Motorsports
UGA Motorsports is a student driven organization dedicated to providing its members with opportunities to experience and explore the automotive world. All students no matter what major are welcome and eligible to participate in this organization. Currently the team is split into two different divisions: Formula SAE and Endurance Racing. Our Formula SAE program is a team where the main goal is to build a small scale Formula One race car to compete internationally. This car is designed, engineered, and manufactured from start to finish by the students of this organization. This team is perfect for students who want experience with designing and manufacturing parts that they can build themselves for the final car. In addition to engineering experience, the Formula SAE competition includes a business presentation and detailed cost report to not only keep students accountable for their spending but to emulate an actual working environment. Our Endurance Racing program is focused on participating in ChampCar events across the country. This team is based off of the ChampCar Endurance Series which showcases ingenuity by racing custom rally cars continuously from 7 up to 24 hours. This team is perfect for students who want to have a genuine racing experience by taking preexisting cars and turning them into Endurance vehicles. Members have a large variety of opportunities within this organization from learning and working on the car itself to actually racing in the event. Regardless of what team a student chooses, each of these teams allows their members to experience the automotive world in addition to building connections that will help them in their engineering, marketing and sales, or automotive careers.
