De Educatieve Uitgeversgroep is in 1991 onder de naam De Toerist opgericht door Jeroen van Esch, nog steeds docent in 'hart en nieren'. Wat begon met een marketingboek, groeide uit tot een compleet aanbod voor diverse opleidingen op VMBO-, MBO- en HBO-niveau. In al die jaren is het concept ongewijzigd gebleven: Het vóór en dóór docenten ontwikkelen en aanbieden van betaalbare, gestructureerde, praktijkgerichte en examengerichte studiematerialen. Ook het karakter van de uitgeverij is nog altijd: een kleinschalig, servicegericht, professioneel en klantvriendelijk bedrijf met veel kennis en praktijkervaring in huis. Missie & Visie Het 'samen ontwikkelen' (vóór en dóór docenten) staat centraal in ons denken en werken. Educatieve Uitgeversgroep werkt samen met zo'n 150 auteurs die werkzaam zijn als docent. Het materiaal wordt daarnaast gecontroleerd en ondersteund door het bedrijfsleven. Hierdoor is het materiaal studentvriendelijk en praktijkgericht. Deze combinatie is kenmerkend voor onze uitgeverij.
