About UK Yogathon

UK Yogathon 2010 is a community event bringing together businesses, schools, and individuals to do a sponsored wellbeing event through the practice of yoga. Each participant will be asked to perform a set number of sun salutations (a set of yoga postures), and completion will raise money for Cancer Research UK and Liverpool Wellbeing Development Trust. 10% of sponsorship money will also go back to the schools who are involved, in the form of additional workshops and yoga equipment. Our main objective is to promote the practice of yoga as an activity which is available to all. It is an activity which does not conflict with cultural or religious views, and can be practiced by any level of flexibility, experience, and age. We also believe it is important to know that yoga is non-competitive; it is about personal development and improving your health, personal wellbeing, and happiness, not about getting your leg behind your head!
