About UKTram
UKTram is the Trade Body for all British Isle Light Rail and other guided transport systems. These include all Second Generation Tramways, Metro's/Subways (excluding London Underground), Ultra-Light Rail Systems, Personal Rapid Transit Systems and Heritage Tramways in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man. As the trade body for the industry, UKTram takes the leading role for the industry in all matters, including: Promoting Trams, Light Rail and other Guided Transport Systems, Technical Standards, Government Lobbying and Liaison, Group and Industry Best Practice, Centre of Procurement Excellence, its is the keeper of the RSP2 and all Associated Guidance and Standards and is responsible for reviewing and maintaining all these documents. UKTram shares and develops knowledge and experience, European and International Liaison and is highly involved in Innovation and Development. UKTram represents members from all aspects of the Light Rail Industry in the British Isles and include all System Operators, Maintainers of Infrastructure and Rolling Stock, Passenger Transport Executives, Local Transport Authorities, City, Town and County Councils, Concessionaires, Manufacturers, Trade Suppliers, Industry Advisors and Experts. UKTram provides a network and support for all members with quarterly meetings for all its groups, along with Best Practice Days and Light Rail Summits, as well as being involved in the Light Rail Awards and Annual Light Rail Conference. Membership of UKTram enables full integration into all aspects of the Light Rail Industry in the British Isles, with best practice sharing, legislation and guidance updates, industry hot topics, knowledge sharing, knowledge transferring and developing, link with International Industry colleagues and shaping the future of the industry.
