About UL Alumni Association
MISSION: The mission of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association is to promote good fellowship among alumni; to strengthen the ties of loyalty and devotion of alumni to their alma mater; and to at all times further the interests of the institution. HISTORY: In 1903, the first graduating class of the Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute organized the Alumni Association. The association's mission has been the same since it was established. Ragin' Cajun alumni get together often with their geographic clubs and special interest alumni chapters. We love to "pass a good time" at crawfish boils, receptions, dinners and gumbo cook-offs from Denver to Atlanta, from Washington D.C. to the other LA, Los Angeles, and throughout Acadiana. The association encourages alumni to network. Making contacts, doing business with one another, hiring UL Lafayette students and alumni and or assisting the university in its recruiting efforts are just a few of the ways that the alumni network can be of benefit. The Alumni Association also takes on special projects from time to time, such as our unique Walk of Honor. The walk is a massive undertaking with the goal of showcasing the extensive alumni network we are so proud of. The Walk of Honor includes brick tiles placed along the Quadrangle archways; each tile engraved with the name of a graduate, arranged alphabetically by class year. The walk includes every graduate of the University and will expand with each graduating class. Additionally, the Association maintains the Alumni Center at 600 East St. Mary Blvd., a wonderful place that helps capture the colorful traditions of the past and serves as the center for planning an exciting future. It is a wonderful place for all alumni to call home.
