uleadership, LLC is a nurse-led consulting and coaching company made up of 3 nurses with years of experience in nursing leadership from the bedside to the executive suite. By reflecting on common experiences in our careers, we developed a unique leadership program called Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare which is relevant for leaders at all levels and focuses on change from the inside out. The Human-Centered Leader is embedded in the organization, rather than positioned above it, and recognizes the expertise and value of those who serve at the point of care. The Human-Centered Leader starts with a focus on self-awareness, self-compassion, self-care, and mindfulness while also integrating the outward-focused attributes of an Awakener, a Connector, and an Upholder. The sustainable changes resulting from Human-Centered Leadership are realized through the development of Cultures of Excellence, Trust, and Caring. The main premise in Human-Centered Leadership is: It starts with you but it’s not about you! Through speaking engagements, online education, webinars, and coaching, we teach nurse leaders and leadership teams how to practice self-care, self-compassion, self-awareness, and mindfulness to build their resiliency and the capacity for outward-focused influential leadership. Our target audience is new nurse leaders, who have direct influence on those at the point of care, although our program is ideal for nurse leadership teams to engage in together as they learn these skills and practices.
