Ultimate Optical, established in 1999 is an independent, full surfacing Optical Laboratory. The team is headed by 3 partners with a combined total of more than 50 years experience in the Optometry, Optical manufacturing and Safety industries. We manufacture prescription optical lenses: Single Vision, Bifocal and Multifocal; according to the prescription received from a participating optometrist from our extensive, nationally located partner network. These partners are also largely all independent, which allows for us to be more flexible and affordable. We supply partner optometrists with a complete package, which includes sample frames, to the actual manufacturing of their lenses. We supply different kinds of Multifocal lenses, from the conventional type to the latest technology, which are Free Form Multifocal. We are licensed by uvex safety as their manufacturing partner for prescription safety lenses for Africa. We currently manufacture for clients in all 9 provinces as well as into the continent (Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria) and even further into the Middle East region as well. The lenses are manufactured in accordance with the EN 166 standards, with particular reference to the Impact Resistance requirements, as identified by the letter F, which denotes the minimum impact resistance of 45 m/s with a 6.5 mm metal ball . At Ultimate Optical we make it a priority to create awareness and ensure that the correct and highest standard of prescription safety spectacles are manufactured and used in the following industries that we currently supply into: Oil & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing, Iron and Steel and Food Processing. Ultimate Optical is a registered member of Saiosh - South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
