About Umhlatuze Pharmacy Group

The Umhlatuze Pharmacy Group is led by Dr Gustav Kriel, the CEO, who is a pharmacist and holds two business degrees specialising in finances and economics. Mr Wayne Kriel is the Operating Officer and holds a BA Hons degree in Logistics, he has also registered to pursue a LLM degree in International Business in order to facilitate the groups Import/ Export arm operating under Mrs Ilca Kriel as FFL Trading Pty Ltd, she also manages the Marketing arm of the group and heads up the Technical Section involving Information Technology. Miss Tyla Kriel who has a BA in Psychology heads up the Human Resources division and Training facility, and finally Mr Andre Brand who holds various HR diplomas as well as a Pharmacist Assistant diploma managing the Wholesale division, operating under the name of Umhlatuze Wholesale Druggists and also advises Miss Tyla Kriel on CCMA and HR matters due to his past experience in this field. Mrs Selette Stead who holds Bookkeeping and Auditing diplomas is the Financial Officer for the entire group having worked for auditing firms and the Receiver of Revenue. The Financial Loans business operating under Umhlatuze Finance is managed by Mr Wayne Kriel which is on line based and IT driven. The group consists of five retail pharmacy outlets, a pharmaceutical wholesaler, an import/export company and financial loan business all operating out of the Zululand Region in Northern KwaZulu Natal in the towns of Richards Bay and Empangeni and services the entire area from the Tugela River in the South up to Pongola in the North and Ladysmith/Nqutu in the West. Future plans are in place to open a further two retail stores in Mtunzini and Nseleni in 2020. The group has also stated with an on line retail store in order to cope with the imports which will be headed up by Ilca Kriel, this site will be operational within the next 3 months.
