UMID is a Peer-to-Peer platform where users can collaborate and connect to the people around to help each other in emergency, a user can spot emergencies in nearby areas with exact location and people track emergencies related to food/supplies, any ad-hoc help or emotional support. Users can also coordinate with nearest Kirana/Medical stores to order items for them to be delivered at your doorstep or coordinate with the shop owner to assign a designated time for pickup. We want to pass on the responsibility of helping others in the hands of the common public. We are creating a self sustaining community to work in a decentralized manner without any external help. What’s in for the public? • UMID enables people to chat by clicking on an emergency to coordinate for more details; it also lets users to chat anonymously for emotional support, you would be talking to a stranger without fear of being judged. What’s in for the authorities/entities like NGOs? • We are helping people to optimize the resource distribution process, entities like NGOs or Gurudwaras can track where the demand of food/supplies is coming from, it can help them balance the demand and supply curve. What’s in for shopkeepers? • We believe that household shops form the backbone of our economy, hence we are encouraging people to coordinate with these shops through our chat to order items for them to be delivered to their door step • What’s in for volunteers and daily wagers? We sincerely hope to empower people and give them a purpose or livelihood to sustain; and on the same lines we would be launching a “I want to Volunteer” program where people can join hands for a social cause or monetary benefits. For eg: a guard of a society can be partnered to deliver items from near-by shops and in turn can be paid for his services. Other people can also volunteer to onboard shops/stores or be support gurus to counsel people.
