Undergraduate Mock Trials Canada was developed in September 2012 by a non-profit organization known as C.L.A.U.S.E. (or Creating Legal AcUity in Student Environments). Four years later, UGMT has grown into a much anticipated annual competition having to have doubled in size. UGMT receives over 100 applicants from the University of Waterloo alone, and is currently expanding to other universities across Ontario.
