Understand Your Marketing started with a vision and a conversation. Prior to starting Understand Your Group, I observed a discrepancy in marketing efficacy between large businesses and small to medium businesses. What I discovered was that a large piece in this discrepancy was access to data-driven strategy development. Large companies had access to lots of data and therefore could specifically target their marketing to improve market cut-through. In contrast, many small to medium businesses don’t have access to influential data and therefore struggle to efficiently market. Understand Your Marketing’s vision is to offer big-business marketing strategy services to small to medium size businesses in a cost efficient form. Further, the vision for the group is to expand into a range of verticals including, technology, finance, HR, and business ops. One of the founding principles Understand Your Marketing was built upon was to concept of wisdom. Wisdom is found at the intersection of knowledge and understanding. We help businesses develop a keen knowledge of their market. Once we have this knowledge, we help businesses understand the best ways to engage, educate, and capture their market. We believe good marketing is wise marketing, basing strategies in knowledge (data) and understanding (best practices).
