About Understanding Animal Research Oceania
UAR Oceania is a non-profit organisation that helps people in Oceania understand how they benefit from the use of animals in scientific research and teaching. We work with life sciences organsiations across Australia, New Zealand and Oceania's Islands to enable better research and to help people recognise the contribution of animal-based research to scientific progress. Animals should never be used lightly, but when they are treated with care and attention they play an essential part in futhering our understanding of biological sciences, developing new human and animal medicines and and discovering effective protections for the environment.
