What is UNICEF? A leading agency for child survival promoting children's rights. For over 60 years, UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other organization in the world. We have the history and the experience to overcome obstacles like politics and poverty—even war—which can stand in the way of a child’s life. Everything that UNICEF does is for one purpose: to help children survive. We believe that every child has the right to survive, and we will do whatever it takes to save a child and secure children's rights. What does UNICEF do? UNICEF is on the ground. Every moment of every day, UNICEF is on the ground providing lifesaving help for children in need. UNICEF works with governments, national bodies, international agencies, and civil society to support effective and essential actions at each phase of the life cycle of the child, including in pregnancy, early childhood, preschool, school-going years and in adolescence. We provide families with clean water and sanitation, we vaccinate against childhood illness, and we help protect children against deadly diseases, such as malaria. We provide nourishment to fight malnutrition, we care for children affected by HIV/AIDS, we protect children from abuse and we give children an education. About the Israeli Fund for UNICEF The Israeli Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF’s lifesaving work through resource mobilization, advocacy and education. Our objective is to make Israel part of the global efforts to better the lives of children around the world and promote children's rights within Israel.
