About Unimatrix Productions
Unimatrix Productions is an independent game studio run by couple Christopher Brendel and Elle Smith that produces quality story-centric games on a variety of platforms. Formed in 2003, Unimatrix Productions has released multiple critically-acclaimed games to-date: Lifestream (2004), Shady Brook (2005), and The Filmmaker (2010), along with one demo, Stonewall Penitentiary (2008). Unimatrix's current project is Storycentric Worlds, a project dedicated to the creation and distribution of next-generation text adventure games, commonly referred to as “interactive fiction.” Our goal is to revolutionize this largely-overlooked genre and create a brand new series of games. In development since 2008, the Storycentric Worlds game engine represents the pinnacle of interactive fiction, combining classic room-based explorative text game mechanics with a stylish graphical interface and plenty of bells and whistles like pictures and sound. The result is an engine that looks and feels modern while remaining true to the essence of interactive fiction. It is efficient, lightweight, and compatible with a variety of platforms, including PC, iOS, and Android. Unimatrix also provides access to the Storycentric Worlds engine to third-parties interested in developing their own titles.
