About Union Renovables

Unión Renovables is the union of cooperatives of consumers and users of renewable energies that groups together 20 cooperatives of municipal / regional scope that are dedicated to commercialize electricity to their more than 105,000 members, whom it trains and informs about responsible consumption, bill adjustments to save and the electricity sector. We advocate responsible consumption, the local economy and distributed renewable generation. The environmental cost of producing and consuming locally is much lower, while local management increases social benefits (jobs stay in our environment, taxes are paid locally, more money remains in the region). Union of Cooperatives of Consumers and Users of Renewable Energies (Unión Renovables) is the most representative entity of state-level energy consumption cooperatives. Registered since December 1, 2016 in the Registry of Cooperative Associations with number 74 – A.C. It arises from the need to promote and coordinate reciprocal support between partner entities, take advantage of synergies and strengthen the cooperative sector as a whole. We are a non-profit organization, whose mission is to spread the cooperative principles and the cooperative model of electricity consumption before society, promoting among consumers and users, the consumption of electricity from renewable sources, the efficient use of energy and a more sustainable and participatory energy model. Our strategic purpose is specified in achieving for all the electricity consumption cooperatives an adequate environment of influence and representation that contributes to improving their competitiveness and development, through joint processes, services and dialogue with the public Administration and social agents.
