Labor Unions have long been the backbone of a robust middle class. However, rapidly declining union membership has introduced unprecedented income inequality built upon worker exploitation. Workers are facing unlivable wages, limited access to adequate benefits, and diminishing labor protections as those who do the job are continually undervalued by their employers. This growing demand for equitable labor compensation and protection has created a need for UnionSeed. In the post-lockdown era, the traditional format for unions, gathering in person is no longer a guarantee, and alternative collaborative tools are not purpose-built for their needs. We aim to build a digital union online for inclusion. Our solution combines innovative technologies, a digital ledger, and advanced identity securities, to provide a secure and accessible space for labor organization and action. The private and public sectors are currently overwhelmed with a growing population of workers desiring labor protections that either aren’t in place, or that the typical union structures do not implement. UnionSeed addresses these problems with a modern solution that provides the sought-after protections necessary to thwart union-busting attempts and enhances the reflex of democratic participation. A seamless UI/UX design is our biggest priority.
