About Unique Union

Unique Union, Inc. is a 501(c)3 org at the intersection of applied art, urban culture, mental wellness, and creative community in Washington, DC. We incorporated in September 2019 as a not-for-profit corp with a mission to provide a safe place where creatives of all abilities are encouraged to develop their full expressive potential through art. We are working to facilitate local connections through guided art-as-therapy practices in a trauma-informed, group setting, to ultimately provide a creative, inclusive, and therapeutic environment for our inner-city community. We are offering our dynamic, constantly evolving, and monthly-themed #SelfCareSunday Craft Workshops on the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month to encourage a healthy mental relationship with self-expression and visual art in a safe and conscious environment. We believe that self-care is a positive habit and we use culturally appropriate DIY projects in our creative community as a way to "put in the work" that is needed to maintain our emotional and mental well-being. We want to ensure these connections can be made accessible to those individuals who may need it the most. We also seek to train and certify community members virtually in Adult Mental Health First Aid on the 2nd Saturday of each month to keep everyone informed on solutions to common challenges and to reduce the stigma behind seeking mental wellness.
