About Unite to Fight Poverty

We’re an advocacy initiative with a passion for fighting poverty. We do that through promoting the power of advocacy, creating and advocating for poverty-reduction legislation, and so much more! After experiencing financial insecurity and seeing it reflected in her Little Rock, Arkansas community, Ciara Callicott founded Unite to Fight Poverty in 2021. Her vision was to create a community of people working to bring awareness to the issue of poverty and also working to combat it using the power of advocacy. What began as one young woman writing letters to her lawmakers has evolved into an organization working across 8 states to unite to fight poverty. After a year of the organization being run by just Ciara and her creative director, Lillian, UTFP has expanded to a full team. Unite to Fight Poverty has become more than just advocacy initiative, it has become a movement.
