“Together, we will support President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Initiative by empowering young people in many of our under-served communities with SBA resources, so that they can dream big and propel the entrepreneurial spirit of their generation forward,” - Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet, the head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and a member of President Obama’s Cabinet Acknowledging that unemployment among the Millennial Generation, particularly in minority communities, is at record levels, beginning this spring, the SBA My Brother’s Keeper Millennial Entrepreneurial Initiative will embark on a nationwide effort to increase the awareness of millennial entrepreneurship in the areas of music, fashion, film and sports. The SBA My Brother’s Keeper Millennial Entrepreneurial Champion initiative will hold focused intensives coupled with events and practical experiences as follows: ● Music: Participants will gain business insight and experience crafting all aspects of what will be seen and heard by the consumer. ● Film: Participants will explore filmmaking, film finance and business strategies. ● Fashion: Participants will learn strategies to optimize economic, distribution and production aspects including marketing of a brand. ● Sports: Participants will learn real off-court business skills with exposure to industry experts.
