Hey there – I’m Colin Gorini, a co-founder here at UnitedGoals USA. When people ask why we started UnitedGoals, my honest response is that it was out of necessity. We played club soccer in college together, without a coach and with few resources. Our first youth soccer tournament was organized as a fundraiser for our team so we could wear matching uniforms our senior year. The tournament was electric, exciting, fun, and filled with all the mixed emotions that come with competition. 22 teams participated, and thanks to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL, all the kids attended a pro soccer game for free that day. We were seated among the families from the tournament in the GA section at Highmark Stadium when we realized we did something good for everyone, not just ourselves. Meaning and purpose flooded the three of us. Encouraged by the positive feedback we received and the difference we made in our community, we became dedicated to organizing more tournaments to enrich local soccer communities across America. We envision a future where every young American soccer player has the opportunity to play and enjoy the sport we love. A future where every young American soccer player is connected with and supported by their community. We partner with professional teams across the USL, nonprofits, and local businesses to deliver unique and fun experiences for the kids at an affordable price. The more organizations that get involved, the more we can grow and sustain every community’s interest in soccer. If we could host the tournaments for free, we would, but it’s not quite feasible yet. This goal becomes more attainable with increasing community support for our events. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m grateful we’re just getting started. We feel a deep sense of responsibility to provide young Americans with unique, memorable, and enjoyable soccer experiences.
