About University at Buffalo Graduate Student Association

GSA is a student government for MA, MS, PhD, and EdD students at the University at Buffalo. If you are currently enrolled at UB in any of these degree programs, and if you pay a mandatory student activity fee, GSA is for you! GSA focuses on three things: services, student clubs, and representation. Our services are available to all of our members. We help with costs for attending conferences, doing research, and more. We also organize social events and offer proofreading services. We oversee clubs for graduate students. These include departmental clubs for specific departments, international clubs that celebrate cultures from around the world, and special interest clubs for students with shared interests. Most grad students are automatically part of a department club, but you can join any international or special interest club you want. Finally, GSA speaks up for graduate students to the University’s administration. The GSA team regularly meets with the University’s President and other top people to share what’s important to students and any concerns. If you’re worried about something at the University, let the GSA president know, and they’ll make sure your voice is heard!
