About University of Manchester Actuarial Society (UMAS)
We are a student run society stemming from the University of Manchester’s School of Mathematics. Over the last year the society has managed to grow membership and find firm footing as the only Actuarial Science related society at The University of Manchester and Manchester at large. The society draws upon a diverse group of 1317 Mathematics students to participate and become members. We believe there is a lack of information regarding the roles and importance of actuaries in the insurance, pensions and investment sectors. We aim to bridge this information gap and provide our members with valuable skills, knowledge and the ambition to succeed as the next generation of actuaries.
