About University of Nottingham School of Humanities
The School of Humanities is a multi-unit school, consisting of five departments: Classics and Archaeology, History, Music, Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies (TRS). All our disciplines offer perspectives on the most significant aspects of human life and culture: birth, love and death, questions of ethics and problems of knowledge and evidence, the relation of our future to our past, and the individual’s place in society and the world. The humanities do not offer certainties or straightforwardly ‘right’ answers but they do require students to respond to profound and important questions about things that really matter and will never date.
