The Public Relations Student Society of America is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. We advocate rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles, and diversity in the profession. We are a pre-professional organization that seeks to help students with professional networking, resume building, cover letter writing, and enhancing their public relations and business education outside of the classroom. MISSION The University of Rhode Island PRSSA's mission is to provide its members with the enhancement of their academic and professional careers through workshops, networking events, conferences, guest speakers, and promotional events. VALUES Our chapter has two values. Our first is to actively contribute to the educational and professional growth of the URI Communication and Media Community. We believe that student involvement builds strong experiences that will prepare our membership for the professional world. Second, we try to engage in responsible global citizenship. We believe that it is our responsibility as public relations professionals to have an understanding of the world around us and to actively contribute to its betterment.
