About University Technical Services
University Technical Services (UTS) is a WOSB based in Millersville, Maryland, focused on building and supporting secure technical infrastructure for mission-critical environments. We help organizations get SCIF-ready by designing and installing structured cabling, private IP pathways, and secure communication networks that meet strict federal standards. We build and fit out SCIFs! Since 2008, our team has brought over 30 years of combined experience across IT, AV, and security systems, working on programs for the DoD, Intelligence Community, and other federal agencies. We handle everything from planning and design to hands-on implementation, helping our clients stay secure and connected in highly sensitive spaces. Our Special Communications Division (SCD) includes cleared professionals with Top Secret/SCI access, allowing us to work confidently in classified environments. Whether it's new installations, renovations, or secure network upgrades, our field teams and program managers partner closely with on-site teams to get the job done right and securely. What we do: ▸ SCIF design and logistical implementation ▸ Fiber optic design, installation, testing, and maintenance ▸ Cable and fiber identification, system integration, and activation ▸ Fusion splicing, cable prep, OTDR and power testing ▸ Intallation of secure systems for voice, video, and data ▸ SCIF construction support, surveillance, and inspection by Certified Construction Surveillance Technicians ▸ Support for CONUS and OCONUS SCIF renovations and ancillary construction tasks We’re currently refreshing our brand and building a new website to better represent our work.
