Maria Curie-Skłodowska University is the largest public university in eastern Poland. As an institution deeply rooted in the region, for over 70 years, it has played a culture and opinion-forming role, and it does contribute significantly to building a knowledge-based economy. Up to date, over 235 thousand students graduated at the UMCS. The university has 11 Faculties in Lublin and the Branch Faculty in Puławy, over 80 study and 250 specializations. The University offers over 100 postgraduate courses. UMCS in numbers: • Over 21 thousand students • Over 235,000 graduates • 2600 places in 9 dormitories • Over 1000 foreign students • Over 500 students are training in sections of the AZS UMCS Club • 96 international agreements with partners from around the world • 23 research projects in progress for the amount of over PLN 116 million • 20 research projects carried out on over PLN 55 million • Nearly 1 million books, 400 thousand magazines and 300 thousand units of special collections in the traditional version in the collections of the Main Library • Nearly 5 thousand books in the electronic version in the Main Library • 98.2 FM - on these waves receive the Academic Radio Centrum.
