About Unscripted Learning
Unscripted Learning is committed to enriching the lives of individuals, by providing educational opportunities for learning social and communication skills through improvised theatre. We have two major areas that we are focused on: CONNECTIONS Connections serves teenagers and young adults living in San Diego County who are impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). There are very few programs like CONNECTIONS that offer teenagers and young adults with ASD the opportunity to use improvised theatre as a platform for improving upon their social and communication skills and being prepared for post-secondary education or employment as they age. We offer weekly in-person classes at our studio in San Diego, as well as a weekly virtual class on Zoom. In 2024, Unscripted Learning began to train educators and speech language pathologists to introduce our program into their respective schools as part of the regular curriculum. ACTIVE MINDS Active Minds is an educational program for seniors that teaches improvisational acting techniques and skills to improve cognitive ability, foster brain health, broaden creative expression and help increase social interaction.
