About UNSW Economics Society
Demanding Change. Supplying Opportunities. The UNSW Economics Society represents the opportunity for involvement, development, and growth, for those studying economics, and those interested in its application. It reflects the core values of the UNSW Business School and its Economics faculty in innovating student experience through social, academic, and professional engagement. Producing the future leaders of Australia’s Economic industry is just the end-product. We aim to give students the skills, the knowledge, and the networks to be successful in their careers. So providing a framework of support through events and skills development is fundamental to a beneficial University experience. Primarily in 2016, our aspirations lie in continuing the foundation set out in previous years through the provision of an extensive range of careers based discussion panels, vocational Q&As, as well as competitions in collaboration with Economics industry leaders. We further seek to augment these professional opportunities with Academic assistance in Level 2 and 3 Economics courses, as well as through a social framework, to maximise student opportunity and achievement on behalf of the UNSW Business School and its Economics faculty. Flagship events: - Economics Careers Fair (Semester 1) - Economics Society Peer Mentoring Program (Semester 1) - Academic workshops for ECON2101, ECON2102, and ECON3208 (Semester 1 and 2) - Economics Discussion Panel (Semester 1 and 2) - RBA Essay Competition (Winter break)
