A PARADISE FOR MAKERS MAKERSPACE, UnternehmerTUM provides a unique infrastructure for implementing ideas and innovations in the form of prototypes and small-scale production. MakerSpace, a 1.500-m2 high-tech workshop that is open to the public, gives start-ups, engineers, architects, designers, and makers access to machinery, tools, and software, as well as to a creative community. This open workshop concept, which is the first of its kind in Europe in this size, was brought into being at the Entrepreneurship Center in Garching, near Munich, in cooperation with the BMW Group. MakerSpace offers a variety of work areas, such as machining, metal-working, and woodworking shops, as well as textile and electrical processing. You can use 3D printers, laser, and waterjet cutters to fabricate new forms with all types of materials. For the purposes of support and networking, the MAKERSPACE team offers training and consulting services for members at all skill levels. With its bright, spacious project space (138 m2) and the somewhat smaller event space (40 m2), MakerSpace offers the perfect location not only for company conferences and workshops but also for other group projects, like hackathons.
