Unyazi Design is a boutique firm that manufactures and retails a selection of uniquely designed and truly African inspired timepieces and accessories. Unyazi means lightning in isiZulu and was founded in December 2017 with the aim of transforming wrists worldwide, through the provision of high-quality designer products that carry an African flair. All our beaded patterns and art work have a narrative which goes back centuries within African history. The beads are hand woven and detailed to the last string to ensure that the straps are durable but stylish at the same time. We are constantly exploring new designs which create fun, cultured and stylish beaded straps and accessories. Our products tell a story and reflect the cultural heritage of Africa in a modern way, thereby bridging the gap between cultural tradition and the modern aesthetics of the fashion industry. Furthermore, Unyazi creates employment through outsourcing all beadwork to local women within the township.
