About UOACS - University of Auckland CompSci Society
The University of Auckland CompSci Society is the student body of computer science students at UOA. UOACS revolves around these four pillars: Connect: University life can be daunting at times and we hope to serve as the catalyst between lifelong friendships. We do this through our mix of social, industry, educational, and competitive events. Collaborate: Our degree can be quite challenging at times and we believe that as a society, we have an obligation to do our best to help out one another. Whilst maintaining academic integrity and abiding by UOA’s rules, we collaborate with one another to achieve better results and ultimately, a better education. We firmly believe in the phrase: Iron sharpens iron. Network: Most people in the industry would agree that the phrase, “Your network is your net worth” rings true. We also align ourselves with this phrase, and we hope to cultivate an environment where people can expand their network and create opportunities for their futures. Whether this is with the faculty, industry, or even just with one another. Develop: Another core element of being a Computer Science student is the technical skills that we acquire throughout our degree.
