About Uoma
Uoma is a journal rooted in the Master’s program in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability (ECGS) at the University of Helsinki. Our team warmly welcomes all students who share our values and interests, and anyone wishing to create content under our values and themes can make submissions. We firmly believe that sustainability and environmental consideration should be considered across disciplines, and we wish that the interdisciplinary approach of our journal will illustrate that. We aim to create an inclusive and accessible space for young academics to express their thoughts around the themes of environmental science and sustainability. We invite our community to convey their knowledge in ways that the everyday academic environment might not always have room for. This means that we establish a platform for free and creative forms of expression, be it columns, poems, essays, photographs, or drawings, it is all up to you! With our themed issues, we highlight trends and crucial topics in the socio-ecological zeitgeist, leaving space for our community's unique interests, knowledge, and talents. We are open to big and small ideas on the local and global scale.
