Upbeat Clean is the UK’s only cleaning company to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunities (Social Mobility). We’re a Derby-based commercial cleaning business combining exceptional service with life-changing employment. Our clients include over 40 offices and venues across Derby—from cultural institutions like Vaillant Live, QUAD and Derby Museums, to large-scale manufacturers like Vaillant and UK HQs such as Getinge. We're proudly owned by the charity Upbeat Communities, which exists to support refugees as they rebuild their lives. Every pound of profit is reinvested to support people in need to integrate well across our city. Upbeat Clean was created in response to a clear gap: many refugee women—resilient, resourceful, and often primary caregivers—struggled to find work that was flexible, meaningful, and fairly paid. We stepped in with a new model: flexible, Real Living Wage jobs with mentoring, wraparound support, and a workplace culture built on respect. While commercial cleaning is too often associated with low pay and high turnover, we set out to do things differently—proving that you can deliver industry-leading standards while also investing in people. Our staff are empowered to thrive, and our clients benefit from a team that genuinely cares. Every customer has a dedicated account manager, regular site visits, and cleaning tailored to their exact needs.
