About UPR Info

UPR Info is a non-governmental organisation based in Geneva, founded in 2008, that promotes the protection of human rights through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism. With over 15 years of experience in Geneva and in over thirty countries, we have firmly established ourselves as a centre of excellence on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). Initially created to raise awareness on the UPR and support civil society organisations, UPR Info has expanded its work over the years to provide technical support and capacity building to all UPR stakeholders. Our organisation raises awareness, builds capacity of all UPR stakeholders, and provides them with tools to engage in the UPR process through reporting, advocacy, monitoring, and implementation and follow up activities. We work with Member States, development actors, National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs), United Nations (UN) agencies, in close partnership with civil society organisations (CSOs). We are committed to furthering an inclusive human rights and gender-based approach, as well as ensuring the mechanism's impact in the realisation of all rights while strengthening national human rights protection systems.
