UpSkill VR is a new low-cost solution that aims to utilise VR headsets in prisons, allowing incarcerated people to take company accredited courses in various industries such as retail, hospitality and manual labour. This enables them to gain certificates, develop both hard and soft skills and constantly develop based on real-time feedback in the virtual environment. The company will be able to see learning progressions and stats across required skills once the person has left prison, or the person could use their certificate and stats to apply elsewhere as the course acts as industry wide proof of upskilling. UpSkill VR will work directly with companies who will be incentivised by having ready-to-hire individuals flowing through the process, selling to prison management companies, and working with non-profits looking to increase incarcerated persons employment rate. UpSkill VR allows on-the-job training at low maintenance and cost to all stakeholders, while benefitting society and reducing inequality among the incarcerated, further reducing chances of reoffending.
