Upstarter Incubator, transforming upstarts into startups. This is not incubation as usual. We have developed a new kind of design-led incubation service for makers, creatives and designers. We work with people with great new ideas and turn them into entrepreneurs running successful micro businesses. We work with the kinds of people who are able to think inventively enough to make the products and services we need in the future. We believe that for a new economy, we need these new kinds of entrepreneurs – lots of them. Our goal is the regeneration of places through a million new micro businesses in a range of locations. The way we do this is different because we take a design-led- approach to forming business. The results are rapid as the business is prototyped into the right form and founders develop a deep engagement with customers and audiences. Our service comes in the form of business issue workshops, short 6 week programs, long term active mentoring and acceleration programs over 12 months. In each location we work with the local talent, conditions and resources. So each place has a different flavor of Upstarter, and will look and feel slightly different. We are not a workspace management company, or a high tech, high growth accelerator - but we work with many of them and we form a bridge between our new businesses and other startup funders and services.
