About Urban Apiary

We produce honey in small batches and are obsessive about keeping our product as true to nature as possible. We are passionate about being able to identify exactly which hive (and in some cases, exactly which frame the honey comes from). We aim to engage our customers on the journey of the honey that our bees produce so that the experience of eating honey becomes more than just that. We love our bees and are mindful to be as non-destructive as possible when we harvest honey. Our honey is authentic, raw and undamaged. It is: Responsibly harvested in Jozi Unpasteurized Unfiltered High in natural pollens Never heated, so nutrients are preserved Not degraded by aggressive commercial filtration methods Treated by hand and with care to maintain it just the way that it was created and the way that nature intended Stored and served in glass bottles Honey is naturally: Antibacterial & antiseptic Antifungal & antiviral Anti-inflammatory High in minerals & amino acids We want to show Jozi how remarkable bees are and generate greater respect, care and appreciation for bees and the contribution that bees have in society especially toward food production (by way of pollination). We believe this awareness will also generate more respect for honey. Honey is a multifaceted product - each hive is unique. We want to share that and share the experience of tasting and comparing different honeys.
