UBAGA was founded by a group of leaders with a passion for golf, a heart for supporting and equipping youth in pursuit of their dreams and a vision for how the two could be realized in tandem. UBAGA’s leadership believes golf provides a unique platform for social and professional skill development, career advancement, individual achievement and community connection. To this end, UBAGA operates as a 501c3 not-for-profit organization focused on two distinct mission related objectives: 1) Facilitating access to existing junior golf resources for those underserved urban youth demonstrating a commitment to improving their understanding of and competency in the game 2) Producing premier competition offerings for urban golf talent thus promoting the rich history and traditions found in both the culture and the game while also providing a competitive tournament format not currently available in the greater San Francisco Bay Area
