In 2000, El Paso's top hip hop DJ, Marc Perry (DJ Marc X Uneek), collaborated with local music business consultants to create a unique opportunity for up and coming artists from various avenues within the entertainment spectrum. Not wanting to be another fly by night operation presenting false hopes to local entertainers, he endeavored to take as much time as possible to build something special that will not only expose local talent, but teach them the business in the process. The mission of the Urban Entertainment Association is designed with collaborative efforts in mind. El Paso's talent pool is vast and artists need efficient means in which to promote and educate themselves. From actors, singers, comedians, dancers and spoken word artists, The UEA of El Paso will be the voice for El Paso's true and talented Urban Music & Entertainment Artists. Our premiere project: Sun City Entertainment Festival will be the Premiere venue for seminars and workshops on music, entertainment, dance, film and more. We will list information on the entertainment business to include industry information, gig listings, etc. This event will be open to all in the industry. From country music artists to Voice Over Actors, we desire to promote El Paso as a genuine Arts & Entertainment city.
