Hong Kong based professionals Richard Baker and Dennis Vetu founded urban-evolution to implement design led initiatives to address pressing social issues throughout the world. In doing so, they offer their clients high visibility turnkey Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that add value to a brand far in excess of the accepted norm of simply “writing a cheque”. We are now seeking expressions of interest to place our “Snug initiative” with interested parties in Hong Kong. So, what is the Snug Initiative? Over 350,000 Domestic Helpers work in Hong Kong. On their days off, they congregate at locations throughout the city to meet, have fun and socialize. In most cases they have no option but to sit on cardboard. You’ll have seen Hong Kong’s Domestic Helpers sitting on cardboard on the streets and overpasses of the city. Oh, and by the way, did you know that they have to pay for the cardboard each time they want to use it! We don’t think it’s fair for anyone to have to sit on cardboard and pay for the privilege. It’s uncomfortable, dirty, creates an eyesore and doesn’t quite fit with Hong Kong’s reputation as “Asia’s World City”. So, we thought we could do better than that, much better. We designed a simple solution. Replace the cardboard with 10,000 Snugs. Hygienic, comfortable, colorful and durable enclosures that can be set up anywhere at any time and which our Domestic Helpers will not have to pay for.
