About Urban Nomad Film Fest

URBAN NOMAD, held annually since 2002, is Taiwan's most independent spirited film festival with 10,000 or more attendance each year. Major sections include international independent films, a Taiwan film competition section, and a 2-day music festival. Media calls Urban Nomad a "mini-SXSW" and "Taiwan's most punk rock film festival" for events that span film, music, art and social movements and an ethos that brings films together with local communities. Films focus on music, art, LGBT, environment, technology, activist movements and documentary. We've hosted Taiwan premiers for Oscar winners and important docs like THE COVE, THE ACT OF KILLING, NAS: TIME IS ILLMATIC and organized musical performances for MAJOR LAZER, ANGELO MOORE (Fishbone), GUITAR WOLF, BUFFALO DAUGHTER, BOB LOG III and bands and DJs from Europe, North America, Japan and Taiwan. All screenings and events are bilingual in English and Chinese.
