ABOUT URBAN SUBURBAN DESIGN Urban Suburban Design is full-service commercial interior design firm that was founded on the principles of innovative design and collaboration. Our understanding of interior architecture, scale, proportion and design principles has led to commercial, model home and restaurant projects ranging from new construction to complete renovations throughout the Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC Metroplitan region. JESSICA ASTRAN | OWNER, PRINCIPAL In 2012, when Jessica Astran founded Urban Suburban Design, she knew she wanted to focus on commercial design in conjunction with her extensive experience in model homes. The driving force behind owning her own company is that it allows her to personally engage with her clients in a collaborative and interactive fashion. Jessica’s goal is to provide innovative designs that are inspired by the style and needs of her clients. Before starting her own company, Jessica worked for 28 years as a senior designer at Builders’ Design, Inc., a national award winning model home design firm, where she earned numerous industry awards for her work. Jessica received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a concentration in Design, from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. She is currently an active member of ASID. JANELLE JENNER | DESIGNER In 2017 Janelle Jenner joined the Urban Suburban team bringing with her 20+ years of interior design experience. Janelle worked as a senior designer at Builders’ Design, a national award winning model home design firm, where she too earned numerous industry design awards for her commercial and model design work. Janelle received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, with minors in both Art Studio and Art History, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
