About URJCMUN (Rey Juan Carlos University Model United Nations)
The Associaciation for the Humanitarian and Student Development (ADHUE) based at the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, organized the first URJCMUN in 2013, in order to provide students with knoweldge of international relations and important institutions such as the United Nations. It's main objective was to prepare students for international MUN conferences and establish an MUN tradition at the university. MUNs are a great a tool in order to increase knoweldge, develop communication and speaking skills, to meet new people and new cultures, to learn how to defend the different political positions of different countries, gain diverse perspectives on issues and prepare for a future in international relations. // La Asociación para el Desarrollo Humanitario y Estudiantil (ADHUE) organiza el Modelo de Naciones Unidas de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. En abril de 2013 se celebró la primera edición de esta simulación y, con lo que se pretende asentar una tradición dentro de nuestra Universidad y abriendo el modelo a los estudiantes de cualquier universidad que deseen participar. Los MUNs son una gran experiencia a todos los niveles. Permite conocer a fondo asuntos de interés internacional, desarrollar las capacidades negociadoras durante los comités, mejorar las habilidades de comunicación, saber cómo funciona realmente la toma de decisiones o ampliar la perspectiva sobre los temas a debatir ya que se debe defender la postura oficial del país en cuestión y no la propia del delegado.
