Founded in 1941, the USO is a nonprofit, charitable organization, relying on the generosity of American's to support its programs and services. Signature programs and services unique to USO Mid-Atlantic include holiday programs like Turkeys for Troops and Project USO Elf, and USO Experience Virginia Beach held each year. The USO is a private nonprofit organization, and not a government agency. A congressionally chartered, private organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission of connection.
