The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Animal Logic have joined forces to create the UTS Animal Logic Academy (UTS ALA), a professionally-equipped studio space engineered to the highest industry standards. The UTS ALA will delivers the first industry-led post graduate degree of its kind in Australia, a Masters of Animation and Visualisation (MAV). Combining UTS’s commitment to experiential learning with Animal Logic’s industry expertise, the UTS Animal Logic Academy (UTS ALA) is a unique collaboration that responds directly to the challenges of the animation and visualisation industries. Located on the UTS campus in the heart of Sydney’s creative precinct, UTS ALA will focus on the application of animation, visual effects and computer-generated imagery (CGI) in a studio environment where students with diverse experience will join together to learn how to solve complex creative problems. It will take a transdisciplinary approach to education, championing the pursuit of innovation in all facets of creative professional practice through a cohort system. The Master of Animation and Visualisation that draws inspiration and connection from across UTS, the creative industries and emerging technologies. Members of the Academy will build on their existing skills and be mentored by practicing industry professionals from Animal Logic, UTS and other industry partners in a custom-built studio where real-world production pipelines will be used.
