About UW Product Management Club

Our Vision The vision of Product Vision Club is to foster product leadership and perspective among engineering-focused students regardless of the career path. We'll do this by building a community, a team, a group of relevant events focused on this vision. Why do we need this club at UWaterloo? Our school has great infrastructure to achieve deep technical knowledge and expertise; however there are no clear ways to take a step back and look at technology at a higher level, in terms of societal and personal impact. We will explore the question of what we should be building and why, as a way of creating maximum value in our future projects, startups, and jobs. We’re trying to figure out how to change the world, and we provide an open forum for ideas, discussion, and support in our passionate community. Club Activities 1. Educational sessions. These sessions will involve: - Learning about product management (PM) internship experiences - Learning about how to get a PM placement - Learning about how to prepare for PM internship/fulltime interviews 2. Industry guest speaker events. These sessions will involve: - Hearing about how it’s like to work as a PM in the industry - Past speakers have came from various organizations including Quora, Square, FireFox, Clearpath Robotics, Magnetic Forensics, Microsoft, Groupon, etc. - Hearing about how the speakers became PM’s - General informal conversation and Q&A sessions 3. Waterloo Trek program: - Exclusive trek program that brings a select group of UWaterloo students to visit and interact with leadership from world leading technology companies - Exclusive networking opportunity with industry leaders - Have the opportunity to build the next generation trek program for UWaterloo
