VA Sports Club is a patented mobile application designed to promote the social and occupational reintegration of U.S. military veterans diagnosed with PTSD through real-time sports-based engagement. The platform uses artificial intelligence and geolocation technology to connect veterans with nearby sporting events, teammates, and community-based activities that support mental health, physical well-being, and social connection. By facilitating peer-driven participation in sports, the app addresses critical barriers such as isolation, lack of structured support, and the transition from military to civilian life. The project aligns with major federal priorities—including the VA’s Mental Health Modernization strategy, the National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide, and PREVENTS Act goals—while aiming to reduce reliance on overloaded mental health systems. Supported by letters of intent from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, NAMI, and veteran mental health NGOs, VA Sports Club represents a scalable, tech-enabled solution to improve veterans' quality of life and accelerate their reintegration into the workforce and society.
