Formed in 2020, by Patrick Roy Kaufmann, then a 7th-grader, Valentines By Kids asks elementary school students to craft Valentine's Day cards which are placed in colorful envelopes. The cards are then distributed to local hospitals, hospices, and to homebound clients of Food & Friends (which is a great charity that delivers nutritional food ). Both public and private schools join forces here, with children from kindergarten to the 8th grade. Scouts, church groups, and others also join the fun. In 2022, more than 3000 children sat down and drew beautiful cards (samples on our site) and you can imagine the unexpected joy it brough to the recipients! And, speaking of recipients, if we have extra cards, they go to the frontline staff who work so hard to bring comfort and compassion to people. So, we need cards. We need schools and groups to sign up. We also have a sign up for hospitals to tell us how many cards they would be able to distribute. The Valentines are made by hand - felt by hearts.
